The goal of the Coaching minor is to provide students a foundation of movement sciences and psychological aspects involved in sport leadership.
The Coaching minor is primarily designed for students desiring courses which will enhance their ability to coach various team and individual sports. Many students who pursue the Coaching minor are obtaining teacher certifications in programs such as English, 历史, 数学, and Social Science.

Employment of coaches and scouts is projected to grow 12 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. Rising participation in high school and college sports should increase demand for coaches and scouts.
High School Growth
High school enrollment is projected to increase over the next decade, resulting in a rise in the number of student athletes. As schools offer more athletic programs and as more students participate in sports, the demand for coaches may increase.
